Appearance is black, with a big light brown foamy head. Aroma is lots of coffee, chocolate, treacle, roast malt, caramel biscuit. Taste is roast malt, dark chocolate, coffee, dry roast, hint of nutty malt. Smoky traces at the end.

8/1/2022. Can sample courtesy of SHIG, cheers. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, dark fruits, peppery notes. Moderate sweetness, medium roasted bitterness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Good work.

Can at home, from Bottleneck Broadstairs, 15/12/21. Pitch black with a well presented lasting khaki head that stayed for the entire journey ... a handsome beer. Nose is coffee bean, roast malts, cocoa powder, toffee, light spice. Taste comprises coffee grinds, light spice, roasted bite, ashen tones, chocolate, dark malts. Medium bodied, fine massaging carbonation, semi drying close. A really solid well crafted coffee porter ... appearance and mouthfeel just spot on ... shows you can make a flavoursome porter without being high high boost.
