Stand on ceremony!
Deeply roasted chocolate and dark crystal malts provide a luscious liquorice aroma with a heady molasses hit. Your cup will runneth over with rich nutty and toffee flavour. This sweetness is balanced by subtle and spicy Goldings hops.
A decadent drop for sure.

A light haze on this amber brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, decent fine minerally carbonation. Light malts, mild touches of malt cream, caramel and mild watery coffee. Modest ripe fruits into a dry finish. A very mild mild indeed. Solid but could do with a bit more ooomph, even for a mild.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thanks for Mild supply and Bishop Nick supplement!]. Clear, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and average to huge, frothy to creamy, moderately to widely lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Nutty, minimally toasty, dark malty and leafy, hoppy aroma, hints of hazelnut, Brazil nut, a touch of nougat and coffee. Taste is mildly roasty, minimally nutty, dark malty, slightly leafy hoppy, hints of coffee, a touch of Brazil nut, hazelnut, mild roasty bitterness. Minimally creamy, watery texture, dry, even minimally metallic-repellent palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation. Perfect appearance, lovely composition, superbly implemented - liked it a lot.

10/6/2022. Cask at the 17th Braintree Real Ale Festival. Pours clear dark bronze with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma of nut, caramel, liquorice, molasses, hops, roasted malt. Medium sweetness, light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, slightly oily, soft carbonation. Light dry, fruity, berry finish. Good.
