A delicious blend of malt richness, dark fruits, toffee & caramel to bring a complex, rich yet dangerously drinkable 9% Trappist style ale.
Sweet, rich malts on the nose with a dark copper complexion and a light tan head.
Malt forward on the palate with light sweet tones of caramel and sticky toffee followed by dried raisin and fig. Finishing with a subtle black peppercorn spice.

20/12/2022. Draught at Craft Beer Company, St Mary Axe. Pours clear dark amber brown with a small frothy off-white to beige head. Aroma is dried fruits, toffee, biscuit, malt, dark fruits, hint of chocolate. Fairly sweet with moderate bitterness. Quite full bodied, smooth, soft carbonation. Enjoyed this.

Draught keg at the Blue Boar as part of the 'From Sussex with Love' beer festival, July 2022. Reddish brown and a bit thin-looking, hazy with a ring of off-white head. Fleshy and spicy aroma. Lots of sweet cooking spice, some fig, some raisin. Sweet taste with clove and fig right at the forefront, with some hoppy bitterness toward the finish. Medium to full body with heavy carbonation. A good beer although it can't compete with the best of the Belgian darks.
