Norfolk Cock is a rich tasty ale, made using the unique ’maritime malt’ from Branthill Farm, Wells-next-the-sea in North Norfolk. To compliment the juicy malt we have added whole English hops including Goldings, Northdown and Bramlings Cross. The resulting ale has a deep amber colour and a complex flavour, and is, we believe, an ale to crow about.

Rocky off white head stayed on a murky reddish brown body. Red berry, spices & pomegranate aroma. Medium bodied, smooth with lively back & clean aft. Malt, caramel & berry tastes with a limp finish. Rather lacklustre,

16/12/2022. Bottle from Real Ale Shop, Wells shared with Travlr. Pours clear dark amber brown with a large foamy off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, biscuit, dried fruits, light chocolate, brown bread. Medium sweetness and moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily, average carbonation. Well put together ESB.

Almost clear deep amber beer, bubbly pale tan head. Palate is light, mildly dry and has modest carbonation. Mellow malts, trace of grain, mild caramel. Ripe fruits. Light finish. It’s inoffensive but considering the brewers description I find it remarkably not complex.
