Cask at Crewe Dog. Pours a cloudy “bitter brown” with minimal off-white head and good lacing. Malts to the fore in the aroma, alongside some hoppy hints. In the mouth it is medium sweet with fairly high carbonation, plus some underlying bitterness and a creamy texture. Flavour has malts, grains and caramel with hints of toffee and dried apricots. There’s a slight fruitiness in the finish. It’s reasonable – nothing special.

12/10/2023. Cask at Nottingham Robin Hood Beer & Cider Festival 2023. Pours clear dark amber with a small bubbly just off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, nutty, fruits. Medium sweetness, moderate bitterness and body. Slightly watery, soft carbonation. Not bad.
