Nutty and lush. Robust in flavour. Complex! Yes, this was a trial and certainly a big win inspired by our original Porter but with a hint of a traditional Brown Ale. We created a beer that has the depth and complexity of a Porte but is lower in alcohol and has the easy drinking style of a Brown Ale… have we created a unique category by itself? Try it and you may be the judge.

Draught @ [ Malmö Öl & Whisky Festival 2016 ] @ Malmömässan, Mässgatan 6, Malmö, Sweden 21532. [ As West Coast Bryggeri GötePorter ].Clear dark brown color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate - vanilla. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, roasted - chocolate, hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160401] 8-4-8-3-15

Sample at SBWF 2016. Dark brown with a medium head. Aroma of light roasted malt, caramel and some fruit. Similar taste. The body was medium. Drinkable but nothing special.

Keg at SBWF. Dark brown with mid sized head. Red apples and caramel up front. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Molasses, tobacco and apples. Fairly low bitterness.

Draft @ Malmö Öl & Whisky Festival 2016. Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty caramel aroma. Roasted malty caramel flavor with hints of chocolate. Has a roasted malty caramel and chocolate finish.

Draught at Malmö Öl & Whisky Festival 2016.Hazy very dark brown color, brown head. Malty, sweet, alcohols cent, a bit grainy. Malty, liquorice, grainy taste. Grainy, spicy aftertaste. Fizzy mouthfeel, medium bitterness.
