To help make barley wine worthy of his name, we summoned the spirit elijah to help guide us through. We began by ageing it for 24 months in elijah craig casks to impart that heady mix of mature oak, caramel, vanilla and molasses.

750ml bottle shared at Kenny's bday. It pours clear deepest ruby - brown with a small, but sturdy khaki head. The aroma is slick, oily, teacle, molasses, dried fruits, fruit cake, vanilla fudge, caramac, plum, D&B and prune. The taste is slick, oily, bitter - sweet, toothy, chewy, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, boozey heat, bourbon heat, dried fruits, cherry, cherry cola and toffee with a slick, oily vibes with a warming, boozey finish. Fulsome body and moderate carbonation, slick oily mouth feel. Intense fulsome body and general filth.

Bottle pour at Farmhouse Fest 2023, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of bourbon barrels, brown sugar, and molasses. Flavour is rich and complex, with huge bourbon barrels, molasses, brown sugar and oak. Rich, bourbony and sugary. Excellent.

A taster shared with Josh, Matt, Phill, and Ryan during FHF with priceless Rachel's (yup, again!) help in organizing all the mess with glasses. Appearance: brown. Aroma: American oak, sweetness, some fruity character. Taste: same, almost flat. Overall: good.
