Brewed using our authentic traditional belt-driven brewhouse, where belts and wheels installed in 1861 still today power our brewing process. We're proud to be one of the last remaining breweries in the world to brew beer in this way.
Belt Driver is a full-bodied, flavourful Indian Pale Ale (IPA) which bursts with tropical and grapefruit flavours and like a cask beer should, draws you in for that next pint every time!

Cask at Bottle of Sauce, Chelt. Clear golden, white head with good retention. Aroma of sweet-ish pale malts, bready, floral hops. Taste is much the same, sweet-ish malts and floral hops, mild citrus, mild bitterness. Medium bodied, very little carbonation.
As Colin noted in his review before mine, the marketing of this beer calling it a full bodied IPA is a bit ridiculous and honestly disingenuous; it's a bog standard pale ale. The brewing method is far more interesting than the beer itself I'd say!

Cask at the Stag, Stow On The Wold, 23/11/24. Clear golden topped with a lasting white head. Nose is pale malts, citric tinged straw, soft malts, hint of honey. Taste comprises pale malts, orange peel, light breads, floral whisper. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close doused with modest hop bitterness. Passable cask pale ... sips okay I suppose. Bit silly marketing this as an IPA and to quote the brewery ... 'full flavoured' in 2024! Do they never get out and try other beers on the market?
