This American IPA uses some of our favorite classic NW hops in the boil and copious amounts of Azacca and Simcoe for late hopping. These varieties drive wonderfully hoppy notes of grapefruit, mango, pineapple, tangerine, stone fruit and pine into the flavor and aroma. A small percentage of the malt bill uses rye malt as a supporting role to help create a biscuity malt balance and a smooth body. This approachable and delicious West Coast IPA appeals to a wide variety of drinkers.

Opalescent golden to bright orange colour, minimal creamy white head; aroma of pine cones, grapefruity, tangerine, orange peel oils and some grape notes; taste of hoppy bitterness, syrupy-marmalade-like bittersweetness and the same notes as can be felt in the aroma; really good IPA

Tap at Denizens Silver Spring Saturday night. All you could ask for in a Rye IPA. Lots of hop depth, heavy rye centered body. Full bodied. Solid.

Crisp clear amber, deep copper and a faint orange glow with a nice two to three centimetre tall microfoamed tan head - make this look very nice. Aroma of crisp grain, a dose of bread, yeast and toffee with a dash of flowers, oats and a hint of rye. Medium-bodied; Strong rich malt and bready flavours at first with a good body and deep hop bite that shows grass, flowers and a touch of citrus near the end. Aftertaste shows the deep grain, strong alcohol and pungent yeast and bready notes stronger than anything else, but the hop notes and bitterness front he alpha acids do come through and show very nicely entirely. Overall, a very nice hop-forward beer that shows alpha acids, but the rye and specialty grains note hit nicely and without pungency, but a lot of complexity and enjoyable depth. I've never liked rye-based IPAs before, but this was great, and well-recommended, especially if you can find it easily. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop in Arlington, Virginia on 28-January-2020 for US$1,86 sampled shortly after on 09-February-2020.
