Handpull cask at the Golden Eagle, Derby. Very red, flat-ish, with a loose ring of white head. Massive malty smell, not getting much else. Sweet malty taste with the bitterness of dry grain in the throat at the finish. Too malty, too one-dimensional. But not altogether bad.

On cask, 4.6 % abv, at Golden Eagle. Half-pint served in a mug. Filmy layer on top of a clear copper coloured body. Aroma of brown malts, caramel and coffee. Malt-driven flavours of toffee and coffee with hints of dark fruity bitterness towards the finish. Clean in the mouth. In perfect condition. Drinks very well (Derby 16.02.2016).
