1/2 pour on tap at Tewksbury. Opaque, dark brown, thin head with fair retention and light lacing. Aroma is strong sweet fruit/raisin, caramel. Taste is strong dark fruit, caramel, toffee. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation, finish as taste.

Charlton draught, 2/13/15.
Clear, dark amber. Medium-sized, tan head.
Toasty with some dry caramel and maybe a hint of roast, too. Balanced, maybe not super aromatic. Clean, no alcohol, or sugar.
A lot more rich in flavor than the nose prepared you got, wow. Starts out with a mix of moderate toasted malt and caramel, before deepening in to rich pepper, toffee and finally fruity yeast. Rich and flavorful with a chewy, big texture though not syrupy or sugary or alcoholic. Lingering toast, toffee, earth and big, sweet biscuit. Very well-done, to-style, per usual for TH.

Farewell Crisp mix case it’s been a blast. Very dark brown and a fine head. Nose is figs and tobacco and chocolate. Tastes of chocolate coffee grinds, dates, figs, some boggy peat and rum. Licorice finishb

Pours deep mahogany into a thistle. Mocha head with excellent retention does not recede. Fig, raisin bread and date aromas. Soft with hot fig, pumpernickel and toasted raisin bread front to back. Lasting, smoked maple finish.

Pours a near black from a can. Nutty and coffee aroma and flavor. Pours a bit darker than other Scotch ales. Good beer.

16 oz can from Tree House, Charlton, 3/27/22. Canned 2/25/22. Pours chestnut brown, with a creamy tan head. Nutty, with lots of toffee / caramel / brown sugar. Some earth and peat. Bit of coffee roast. Smooth and creamy. This one drinks great. Shit is dangerous at 8.4%, because it drinks much lower. Balanced flavor, great mouthfeel. Excellent.

Pours a deep, amber-brown, with minimal head. Aroma is malt, nuts, caramel. Flavor largely follows (very porter-like, actually). Smooth, crisp mouthfeel.
