Deep copper-coloured, brewed using five malts, including some German. Two American hop varieties make this a palate-filling session ale.

Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours a slightly hazy “bitter brown” with medium sized foamy off-white head and good lacing. Malts dominate over traditional hops in the aroma, with a hint of nuts as well. In the mouth there is a battles between sweet and bitter with the former gaining the upper hand. Flavour has traditional hops, summer fruits, raspberries and plum, with hints of spice coming later. Slight bitterness in the finish. This is decent.

Sun Inn Summer Beer Fest, Kelvedon. Cask. Clear deep amber beer, tidy off white head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, good fine carbonation. Smooth malts, some bitterish tangy toffee in there. Rich ripe fruits and dried fruits. Light floral spice. Finishes light and semi dry. Comes together well, tasty bitter.
