Our award-winning Porter bridges the gap between malty brown ales and heavily roasted stouts. Notes of chocolate, coffee and roasted barley are offset with just a slight hop bitterness. Enjoy any time of the year.

Dark brown pour with a short-lived beige head. Notes of coffee, chocolate, quite a bit of dark fruit, I think even some raspberry flavor, smoke, light roast. A very fruity porter, light and sessionable.

Bottle thanks to wombat23. Pours very dark brown and leaves a creamy, tan head. Aroma is chocolate, cow dung(!), a bit of smoke, roasted grainy notes. Taste is nice: lightly sweet up front, smoky, turning both sour and evincing a roasted coffee bitterness going into the finish. Body is medium with a mild carbonation. Overall not bad, apart from that odd fecal note.

Ricas maltas tostadas, chocolate y toque ligeramente ahumado. Postgusto claro a chocolate. Bien rica.

Good porter, dark and moderately bitter, strong mocha vibe backed by a firm roasted bitterness. Bright coffee notes on the back end prevent any lingering sweetness, and the fade offers up an unexpected modest floral hop streak. Nose is no great shakes, bland with a strange metallic undertone, yet the pint looks great, a deep dark brown with an off-white head and solid lacing. Texture flirts with being too thin, but the bitter finish leaves me okay with it. Seems like a fairly no-frills porter, not great but easy-drinking and enjoyable just the same.

Probably the quintessential example of an american porter. Just spot on for the style. However, that makes it not overly exciting either. barleymash SD

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown hue with a beige head. Aroma of dark malts, roast, coffee. Taste follows nose. Finish is perhaps a tad thin, but I think this is exemplary of the style.

On tap at Blue Door University. Pours a near clear deep brown with a grayish brown head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has sweet dark grain note with some roasted malts supporting. Flavor has strong roasted malts with sweet dark grains backing.

Another case of I’ve had this, never rated it. Anyway... Bottle from Total Wine & More - West Richmond. Pours black with a tiny beige head. Aroma of dark-roasted coffee and chocolates. A little earthy as well. Flavor is smooth, slick black coffee, earth notes, perhaps a hint of smoke.
