Our award-winning Porter bridges the gap between malty brown ales and heavily roasted stouts. Notes of chocolate, coffee and roasted barley are offset with just a slight hop bitterness. Enjoy any time of the year.

Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of toasted nuts and roasted malt. Taste has mild bitter notes, dark roasted elements with a hint of coffee on the nose. Coffee notes continue onto palate, smokey finish. Good.

Bottle at home in Canaan, NH. Pours black-brown with a foamy, tan head. The nose holds moderate roast, some dried cherries, cocoa. Light sweet flavour with pleasant ashy roast, dry and bitter cocoa, mild earthy hops. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Dry finish, some tobacco, more ashy roast and bittersweet cocoa. Nice stuff overall.

Bottle pour from The City, Plaistow, NH. Appearance is dark brown--almost opaque--with dark ruby with light source directly behind, decent sparkle at the sides of the glass, 1.5-finger width foamy beige head with decent retention and persistent ring, with trace lacing. Aroma is rich, roasty malts, chocolate. Taste is rich, roasty malts, subtle dark fruit, chocolate. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with smooth texture, soft carbonation and roasted malt sweet and bitter finish. Overall, good, but pretty one dimensional and expected more. However, this is really young (bottled date only three weeks ago) so will attempt to restrain myself and age this a bit to see if time is kind to it, as I suspect it will be.

Fron notes. As a Porter I am expecting it to be more roasty and thinner bodied than the stout. It pours a dark cola black with a filmy tan head and a big roasty chocolate savoury aroma. Yep, medium to light bodied with a dry finish. Roasty, chocolate, licorice (very very mild) and savoury umami type flavors. This is a really nice robust Porter.

355ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with average, late awakening, frothy to creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Roasty, dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, roasted nuts, some cocoa, hints of toffee, weak smoky overtones. Taste is roasty dark malty, minimally bitter, notes of roasted nuts, coffee, cocoa. Super clean, well balanced and integrated, but lacks some intensity.
