Pours deep black with an initial foamy brown head that mostly dissipates, but after a refill pour a secondary creamy head forms that sticks around for ever and leaves nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is very bourbon forward, roast, chocolate. Initial flavor is also very bourbon forward, but as the beer breathes the bourbon pulls back into the rest of the stouty notes and becomes more of a compliment than a dominant. Roasty, chocolatey, figs and dates. Light sweet and light bitter. Fairly full body and creamy mouthfeel. This is a damn good beer, could be great if the bourbon could be pulled back just a touch more.
