Pours deep gold into a tulip. Tan head with medium retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Sweet hot caramel and toffee upfront turning to sour vegetal earth.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; copper pour with a big bubbly off tan head, aroma has has red fruits, pine, big caramel, taste has sweet caramel, a hint of pine, sweet malts, a hint of sweet citrus.

Pour is a clear copper with a large white head. Aroma is hops with sweet caramel malt but i also get that hop oil that I usually get in Rogue beers. Flavor is an overabundance of heavy sweet malt that overpowers the hops. When I saw this pouring I knew this would not be for me. Way too heavy a malt bill which just leaves a trace of hops which was dissapointing. Also it would not hurt to put a best by date on a bottle like this.

On tap at Rogue in Portland, pours a murky dark orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite yeasty and confused, with earthy hops and dirty yeasty notes. Flavour is a little better, but still rather dirty and muffled, with pungent earthy hops and messy yeasty notes. Not nearly as good as the 6 Hop IPA I just had. This one is confused / messy. Okay.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours translucent copper with a slight head. Aroma is very fruity. Suggesting fresh citrus juice. Full bodied, or almost. Flavor is slightly roasty malt supporting a lot of fruity hop. Seems to be a touch of tropical fruits. This is bitter, but smooth, not harsh. It’s a tasty delite.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy reddish copper color with a 2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light roast, herbal, wood, and floral/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light roast, herbal, wood, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, herbal, wood, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero astringent hop flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from bitterness that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, moderately sticky/resinous, and creamy/bready balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a very nice DIPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of juicy citrus/tropical/pine hops and moderate dark/bready malt flavors; and very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

This brew is a clear dark amber color with a medium thick foamy off-white head that diminishes gradually. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of grapefruit, floral hops and caramel malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

On tap in Portland. Amber with a white head. Fresh and hoppy with grapefruit, hay and light malt. The finish was bitter. Quite good.

22oz bottle thanks to Matt. pours out a crisp amber copper topped with a sand hand. nose is citrus pine hops sweetness. taste is more of the nice pine hops and a nice balanced end.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a dark hazy burnt brown color with a thin film of a white head. Light messy lacing here and there.
The smell had some pine coated caramel malts. Semi-thick. Light toffee, somewhat dry.
The taste was moderately sweet carrying the malts to bring the caramel and toffee forward. Pine tries to balance but has a dry aftertaste and leads into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sipping to sessionable quality about it. Carbonation feels fine.
Overall, I say this was a decent DIPA, nothing special but not bad.
