(On tap @ CBC 2016 Red Session, Copenhagen) Aroma of fresh roasted coffee beans, light green pepper quality, honey, spicebox, floral, a bit boozy. Taste has a nice smooth sweet honey core that’s layered over with fairly big notes of roasted coffee, the general feeling being super-sweetened espresso. Supporting notes of pepper, spices, light vanilla, subtle florals. Finishes sweet with some bittering roast. Medium-full oily body, flat, with a little alcohol. The coffee here is interesting and definitely different, it doesn’t have the high drinkability of other Superstition products for me though.

750ml swing top bottle pours with a clear mahogany colored body that tosses up nice thick stocky legs. The aroma offers up some booze notes as well as honey sweetened smooth coffee. The taste delivers smooth sweet slippery honey clobbered oily rich coffee. The coffee is there but subdued by the big honey and residual sweetness. Lovely sipper.

A cognac amber mead with aroma of green coffee beans, light honey, bell pepper notes, very nice and interesting. In mouth, a beautiful complex mix of honey, tobacco notes, woody notes, light coffee, alcohol warmth, excellent. Bottle at meadery.
