Draft. Black beer with a dark cream head. Chocolate and light citrus aroma. Citrus flavor with light chocolate. Medium bodied. Citrus and chocolate linger with light pine.

On tap in Berkeley. It pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a light tan head. The aroma has heavy toasted pumpernickel with a little roast and smoke. The flavor is dry and very toasted, bordering on burnt with dark bakers chocolate and light bitter roasted malt in the finish. I’m not really getting any of the Citra. Just ok.

First review of the beer! Draft as part of a sampler at Fieldwork in Sacramento.Deep, deep brown with brown highlights and a minimal light brown head. Aroma is tropics and chocolate, with coffee as well. Flavor has very slight roast. The citra made this a little unbalanced - perhaps a higher alcohol beer would have added some depth to marry the differing aspects better. Still tasty - and my disclaimer is that I just never love citra.
