Review based on the BJCP2021 guidelines (style 22A). Can 47.3 cl - Batch undeclared (2025 release) (BB undeclared - Canned on 02/27/25). AROMA: medium-high hop aroma (cantaloup melon, slight grapefruit, lupulin). medium malt background, neutral and medium-sweet. slight alcoholic notes. APPEARANCE: deep gold color and cristal clear. medium off-white head, creamy, with good retention for style. lace formation. TASTE: initial medium to medium-low hop flavor (pine, grapefruit, currant, slight melon and lupulin). medium to medium-high malt flavor, neutral-and-sweet. medium-high to high bitterness with a semi-sweet finish replaced by bitterness that persists. MOUTHFEEL: medium-high body with medium carbonation. slight alcoholic warmth. OVERALL: a strong double IPA with more malt presence but still good hop notes.

On tap twice - once at The Cooler in San Leandro and once at Gourmet Haus in Redwood City. You should really jack my score up not less than 0.2 or 0.3 b/c each time I had this, it was next to Pliny the Younger. Pliny hides the alcohol so much that this tastes like the traditional west coast malt bomb with bitterness and hops....but with the malt sticking in throughout because of the malt bill to create the sugars. But I had a bigger pour the second time and here's the thing...this is a great beer!

New batch. It’s a IIPA now for sure....It pours a bright orange color with an off white head. The aroma is full with orange, grapefruit, onion and dank. The flavor is the same with big orange, hop spice, dank and a little honeyed malt. Very tasty.
