surprise bottle from Douglas88.
nice amber pour, good head, retention, and lacing. Interesting aroma, some nice hopping, good malt, very well balanced. Very nice earthy flavour, some good grassy notes, and a nice bitter finish. Wicked session ale.

Sample on tap at the brewery. Pours a clear, dark brown color, with a small, tan ring. The aroma is rye, pine, earth, leather, and metal. Sweet and syrupy, and unpleasantly bitter. Medium body, with a sticky, astringent, clingy mouthfeel. This is an interesting, abrasive, and unpleasant beer.

Draft. Copper beer with a dark cream head. Light malt aroma. Light cocoa flavor. Medium bodied. Light cocoa lingers with light astringent malt.

Appearance: Clear dark amber with a medium sized off-white head and good lacing
Aroma: Caramel and light citrus
Taste: Caramel, citrus and some light bitterness Ok, malty

Bright dark bronze colour. Very toasty, slightly smoky aroma. Flavour is sweetish, mainly toasty, slightly nutty, caramelly. Dry finish. Very lagerish - quite similar to the Dunkel at the Joker Bar in Kazan, Russia.
