Draft. Amber-brown beer with a big cream colored head. Nice pine and grapefruit aroma. Pine and grapefruit flavor with caramel and light earth. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Caramel and pine lingers with grapefruit and light earth.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear mahogany color with a medium light beige head that burns away steadily. Stringy lacing. Sweet spices and malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of caramel malt, grapefruit and spice. The finish is malty with a short spiced aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap (no vintage labeled) at Blue Palms. Pours with a light brown body and an off-white head. Aroma is hoppy. Citrus, dryness, and dirt are the main characteristics. Flavors are citrus hoppy, earthy, caramel, bitter with lively bubbles. Okay, but I don’t see anything holiday or interesting about it.

Bomber from Country Club Liquors. Nose is of ivy, dark rye bread, and hints of caramelized sugar. Clear light brown with a medium, nicely lacing beige head. Flavor is bigtime ivy bitterness, tons of rye breadiness, and hints of caramel. Excellent new version!
