Like a desert rose, Sweet Dee arises from the dry sand of banal ales transforming the light ale landscape. Heretofore clear, now hazy, with ripe fruit aromas richly reposed in the openness of glass. Sweet, yet dry; almost unctuous ripples of bubbles bubbling downwards across the buds. With heavenly hops. Simcoe, Motueka, Gott erhalts!

Draft at Cellarmaker. The beer is a pale orangey yellow tan color. Clouded through. Solid white head. Lots of lacing. The aroma has mild orangey hops. Some mild kinda phenolic yeast action. Odd. Taste is mildly sweet. Funny Belgian yeast flavor, like a mild medicinal, phenolic hit. Finishes pretty dry. Very light feel. Mild bitterness but it’s still there. This is more Belgian than Cellarmaker’s past blondes.

On draft at Cellarmaker. It pours a hazy yellow color with a white head. The aroma is citrusy with lemon and grapefruit. A hint of a tropical passionfruit note and light flowers. The flavor is tropical and full bodied with some pale, doughy malts. Some papaya, lime and grapefruit. Good, but the light doughy malt quality put me off just a bit.
