Cask-conditioned at the Red Lion & Pineapple (JDW), Acton 30/1/2017. Hazy gold in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. Aroma of grainy malts, spice and lemon fruit. Flavour had a yeasty edge, with orange peel and sharp lemons and a hint of banana, before an easy, vaguely tart, finish. Refreshing.

Pours a hazy orange gold colour with a thick white head. Grainy and fruity aroma, wheat, straw, citrus, hops and a little yeast. A light sweet grain taste, wheat, lemon and grape flavours with some spiciness. Not a lot of bitterness in the finish which is light dry and spicy.

[ As By The Horns One Arm Bandit ].Clear light to medium yellow colour with a small average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, pale malt, moderate yeasty, sweet yeast, frutiy yeast, spicy. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration, sweet yeast, spicy, fruity yeast, wheat. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160805] 6-3-6-3-13

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Eebria Bottle Shop, Bermondsey. Pours hazy gold with a tight, creamy white head. There’s a little yeast in the nose, some mellow funk, tangy lemon, dry wheat. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of white grape, peach, melon, tangerine, low bitterness, faint wheat bread, hay. Light to medium bodied with spritzy carbonation. Lightly tart on the finish, with restrained sweetness, more subtle wheat notes, further white grape, tangerine, peach, straw. Really tasty stuff - but not really like a hefeweizen.
