On tap twice at Ale Arsenal for its 4th Anniversary. I love the base beer but actually feel like the barrel detracts a little from the original. This is still very good, but there is something a little muddled here. In my mind, a Berliner Weisse should be soft, tart and clean, and that gets mixed up here. Now once you add Simcoe in any event it gets a little more edgy, but this just did not live up to my expectations....but still very good.

On draft at Tap 25. It pours a light hazed yellow color with a creamy white head. The aroma is strong with orange, lemon, grass and tropical dank fruit. Very minor notes of fresh oak. The flavor has hints of fresh oak along with lemon and orange acidity, dank, spicy Simcoe hops. More citrus orange in the finish. Just a hint of oak in the background. Low bitterness. Very clean and refined. I was skeptical about this one, but it ended up very subtle and tasty.
