Originating in London in the early 1700s, the name comes from its popularity within the London Porter community who are responsible for cargo carrying tasks. Originally called the ‘stout porters’, porters were actually the predecessor of most black beers, including Stouts.
The Canard Porter reflects its origins for a light body, black beer with full savoury notes of coffee, chocolate, toasty malt, and toffee aromas. The roasty bitterness in our porter adds a complexity that exists separately from the sharpness of its hops. It has a moderately high carbonation with a fairly dry, clean finish.

320ml can from Lola’s Craft Beer Bar, Sanur Beach, Bali. Poured a clear almost black colour with a mostly lasting frothy off-white head. The aroma is roasty malt, light caramel. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter and sweet, with a smooth, rich, buttery caramel, light dry ashtray, liqourice bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
