Draft at Beerarama, Eastbourne. Poured a murky medium brown colour with a lasting frothy light tan head. The aroma is sweet malt, nutty herbal. The flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, with a smooth, somewhat light, roasty, yeasty, herbal, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours a dark reddish-brown with minimal off-white head. The aromahas malts and dark fruits, and it’s very much the same story in the mouth. Joined there by raisins and cola plus hints of vanilla and treacle. Finish has a slight fruitiness. This is a decent mild.

Keg at Fierce Aberdeen. It pours clear deep brown with a nice frothy off -white cap. The aroma is toasty, malt loaf, umami, liquorice, coffee grounds, touch of dried fruits and cacao. The taste is dry upfront, bitter - sweet character, toasty, earthy roast, dried fruits, plain chocolate, hint of toffee, light coffee in the backdrop, brown bread, malt loaf and some nuttiness with a dry, toasty finish. Lighter end of medium body and average carbonation. Absolutely ticks all the dark mild boxes. Flavourful and drinkable. Key thing that would improve this is it being in cask, which is thankfully happening soon. Will revisit.
