With this ale, we salute Dr. Maury Hanson, Woodbourne Estate’s fifth owner. For 20 years, this former neurosurgeon and medical scholar painstakingly restored the manor house and gardens to their original grandeur. Under his care, more than 15 varieties of boxwoods were planted with countless other unique tree varieties, and he created a colonial revival garden with amply provides the basil for this refreshing summer ale! Tap. Pours hazy golden orange, small off white head, good lacing. Aroma is light, herbal. Basil notes, pine, rye malt. Flavor is light sweet, muted basil, light bitter. A tad bland, but not at all bad.

Basil and sumac aroma. Cloudy amber, thin head. Strong basil, sage, sumac, lemongrass. Medium body, easy carbonation. Herbal and dank as hell.
