Many thanks to fonefan for this bottle. Round and malty roasted beginning. Thick. Round, intense with lots of roast. Not much sweetness, round and highly drinkable. Great deep, hints of sourness, thick and smooth, moderate hop-bitter and intense roasted bitter in the aftertaste, great!

Medium brown lasting head. Opaque black body. Roasty toasted sugar aroma with toffee and chocolate notes. Sweet, rich roasty licorice and chocolate taste with caramel and toffee notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Sweetish chocolatey toffee and caramel aftertaste with spicy earthy notes. Lovely. Full of flavour, rich, deep, and satisfying. Carlsberg really know how to make good beer when they want to. (0.75l bottle, from Irma in Copenhagen.)

Bottle shared at the pre GBBF chriso’s tasting day 2 07/08/2016. Many thanks to Jan for this one. Opaque black coloured pour with reddy hues. A dark tan head. Aroma is smokey roast, earthy rustic malts, creamy, woody liquorice. Flavour is composed of sweet brown malts, toasted bread, sweet dried fruits, little choc, cakey malts. Palate is semi sweet. Grainy. Moderate carbonation, ok. Maybe a little harsh bitter finish.

75 cl bottle, shared. Pitch black with a dense, tanned head. Roasted aroma with chocolate, coffee and caramel malts. Dark malts. Taste is lightly sweet. Medium to full body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes sweet and toasted dry with caramel malts, coffee and chocolate. Toasted notes. Excellent Porter. Scores out of the price range.
