Jacobsen Porter is a traditional top-fermented porter with depth in both taste and aroma. The peat-smoked malt from Danish Stauning Whisky enriches with an elegant complexity.

Jacobsen Porter is a tar black porter with a dense creamy foam crown. The taste is powerful with a rich soft sweetness and protracted bitterness in good balance. The aroma is dominated by the malt’s chocolate-like aromas, complemented by smoke and coffee.

Bottle 75 cl. Pours an opaque black with a thick and delicious beige head. Roasty note, licorice and a hint of smoke. Rich, smooth body, more licorice than roast - that dry English licorice - and again a gentle, spicing smoky edge. Very little bitterness. Elegantly crafted. 130521

Bottle. Pours cloudy very dark brown with stable tan head. Clear aroma of malt, roast and yeast, with hints of coffee. Bitter, roasty and hoppy flavour with notes of coffee, dark chocolate and liquorice, and touches of malt st. Roasty and estery aftertaste. Quite well-balanced and decent.

Bottle, 75cl. A very dark brown beer with a dense, two-finger dark beige head. Roasted malts, chocolate and a touch of molasses in the aroma. Some dried fruit hints and a vague smoke note I probably wouldn't have noticed without reading the commercial description. It's more evident in the flavor, still very subtle though, with the coffee, chocolate and roasted malts doing most of the work. Some bitterness too of course, and the beer itself isn't too sweet, and not really dry either. It's creamy on the palate, full-bodied and with a nice carbonation level. Lasting dark malts driven finish. Very pleasant and easy drinkable this one. 171229

Bottle shared at the Chris & Ruth pre GBBF shindig tasting 2016 - London. Cheers! Pours black-brown with a frothy, tan head. Moderate roast in the nose, dark malts, light bread, dark fruits. Medium sweet flavour with notes of dry baking cocoa, burnt brown sugar, light smoke. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dry and roasty in the finish, with nice rounded chocolate character, some smoke and ash. Solid.

Bottle split at Chriso’s pre-GBBF Shinding 2016, Day 2, 07/08/16. Black topped with a decent tan head. Nose is rich roast, spice, charr, toffee, cocoa. Taste comprises roast malts, earthy red berry tones, light coffee, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok porter but lacks depth for the ABV.
