Part of the Brewzzi Sampler tray - all pours were in small flute tasting glasses, approx 6 oz (healthy pours). This was the seasonal selection - pour is clear dark brown with a smallish off white head. Aroma is mild roast, along with a milk sweetness. As with all the other Brewzzi beers, very subdued nose. Taste is a nice pine hop and roast malt combination. Simple, but clean and well balanced. Palate is light to medium bodied with a nice soft carbonation. The hops give this a nice dry fresh finish. The last beer I tried on the sampler tray, and my favorite.

On draft - Stogies and Stouts at Dunedin Brewery 02/08/07. Poured the standard stout look. The aroma is very light and I can just make out some roastiness. The flavor started out with a watery mouthfeel that created a neutral taste. Then some of the flavors showed up in the form of roasted malts, a bit of burnt malts that combine with a vague hoppiness to create a slightly dry, bitter and nearly astringent quality. Since the flavors were so subtle nothing really jumps out and seems out of place yet there really isn’t enough there either.
