We took the last of our birch-smoked Grodziskie, aged in a Riesling barrel, then added our own wild souring culture to it and let it do its thing to replicate a barrel aged Lichtenheiner. Has such a thing ever existed?

Bottle from the brethren. Opaque light orange. No head. Aroma is punchy. Sour - Citrus and vinous. Slightly smokey edge. Punchy Sour flavour. Citrusy with a vinous element. Juicy. Slightly smokey, woody underneath. Develops a herbal streak. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat-soft carbonation. Long dry very astringent finish.

Bottle with Joe. Pours golden, nose is barnyard funk, lemon verbena, tangerine, taste is zesty citrus, funk, quite a harsh acidic finish.
