Sherry barrel aged limited version of Pime Öö.

Taste: Big and bold, this immediately makes the Pedro Ximenez felt. Luxuriously sweet, with a heavy presence of cherry and chocolate. The raisin character from the aroma comes through again, sliding down the tongue smoothly. Best enjoyed when sipped by a fireplace.

Appearance: Jet black with a brief ruby tinted light brown head.

Nose: The smell of dates, raisins, cranberries, and above all, sherry overwhelm the room. Blackcurrant jam, smooth chocolate, and a light toasted oak character come through later, whilst sweet malts and a hint of alcohol closes the aroma.

Malts: Pale malt, Munich malt, Special B, Crystal 300, Crystal 150, Crystal 200, Carafa type 2 special, Chocolate malt, Chocolate Rye, Oats

Hops: Magnum, Northern Brewer

Bottle 0.33l at Pivo, Oulu. BBE 18 06 18. Bottle number #597 and #526 ( had to take two!). Colour is black with very small brownish head. Aromas and flavours: Berries, cherries, sweetness, sherry, hints of chocolate and mroasted malts. Soft, can’t find any alcohol so barrel aging process has been successful. Also can’t find wood but overall drinkable.

Tap at speakeasy, tallinn. Pours dark brown-black with light brown head. The small head stays for some moments. Aroma is vinous, roast, dark chocolate, and alcohol. Flavor is sour, sweet and bitter, roast, dark chocolate, malt, vinous notes, and oak. Finish is dark chocolate bitter. Alcohol is well covered for the abv. Overall: very good Tried from bottle at hopner. Sweeter and boozier than tap, heavier. Reminds more regular version. Still very good tho.the latest batch on tap at brewdog tallinn. Enn said i probably won’t like it and it’s true, but it’s not the sweetness that distracts me, as he thought, although it is surely too sweet. For me this has too much of the wine barrel notes. Some of these notes are bordering offnotes.Feels like sloppy blend, i’m sure there are people who will like it, but for me the barrel should never take the driver seat from the beer. It is not total disaster, but sometimes less (barrel) is more. This is also too boozy. Rating for this batch: 6:4:6:3-:13~3.2-3.3

On tap at Speakeasy, Tallinn. Looks like used motor oil, not much head to speak of. Aroma is dominated by sherry and raisins with nice roasty notes, dark chocolate, liqueur and hints of alcohol. Sweet, complex and very flavourful with lovely notes of roasted malt and sherry. Wow! This is really delicious, and surprisingly smooth and balanced. I liked the original very much but this is just top notch! Excellent and delicious!
