Märzen is here, and about six months late.
Not the way we drew it up, but here we are with a Märzen in April, for no other reason than we chose to park it in a lagering tank all winter. We brewed this on July 31st, moved it to a lagering tank at the end of September and there it sat for six months. If you are to look up “brewery capital equipment utilization” Notch is listed as the very worst in the industry, as we tied up one lagering tank for SIX MONTHS.
Munich, Vienna and Pilsner malt, Spalter Select hops, reverse enhanced double decoction™️, open fermented, krausened and LAGERED FOREVER.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8
Pours clear orange mahogany into a willi. White head with medium retention recedes to hug rim. Sweet caramel and multigrain aromas. Dry with sweet caramel, molasses and brown bread upfront turning to earthy multigrain toast in the dry medium length finish.
