Sour red ale aged in freshly emptied Hermit Woods’ Red Scare mead barrels for one year. Complex & tannic: tart berry, earthy sumac, and soft honey. This wild ale finishes with a three month rest, conditioning in the bottle.

Pours dark clear garnet-tinged mahogany into a snifter. No head. Looks like a big old glass of bourbon. Tart cherry and dark pit fruit aromas. Soft with tart, lactic cherry and blackberry upfront turning to crushed pith and leather before the sweet, earthy honey in the lasting finish. Interesting and different.
