Dark Lager - Stone Fence is brewed to pay homage to the dark lagers of the Czech Republic and the black lagers of Germany. By celebrating the best traits of each traditional style. Rich in malt flavors, layers of chocolate, fig, toasted walnuts, and a clean roast character. Pours black in color with garnet ruby hues shining through when held to the light. Hopped with traditional German and Czech-grown hops, that adds spice and a herbal element to our take on this European style dark lager.

Can to becher pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a two finger khaki foamy head which slid off delicately to leave some light messy lace
Aroma: dark bread, dark fruits, toast, roastiness, and earthiness, light nuttiness
Flavor: wraps up the prior noted aromas to blend semi-sweet with an earthy contour to it, mild dark bready aftertaste
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability to it, some smoothness; finishes semi-dry and roasty
Overall: good dark lager I'd be willing to come back to.

12oz can pours a translucent dark brown, ring of beige head. Nose is what you want, dark malt, pumpernickel, carob, some caramel. Flavor is a touch flabby, more chocolate syrup and tootsie roll than anything. Sweet, medium bodied finish. 6 4 5 3 11

Pours mahogany tinged dark brown into a willi. Mocha head with excellent retention turns soapy before receding. Dark caramel and toasted brown bread aromas. Medium bodied with dark caramel, mocha upfront turning to crisp, dusty oxygen before the lasting raisin brown bread finish.
