After the success of our 6.5% Community NEIPA we decided that we wanted to create something with a similarly huge hop aroma and flavour, but at a more “sessionable” ABV. Summer is coming and we needed a prefect crushable patio IPA. Enter our new hazy pale ale.

For this brew we were able to get our hands on some amazing Mosaic hops. Often referred to as “Citra on steroids”, this hop makes for an epic flavour profile of tropical fruit and citrus that will have you reaching for that growler for another pour

Hazy amber, white head. Lightly dank piney citrus nose, similar subdued palate. Good mat in back. Light piney hop end, medium bitterness

Orange peel. Some lemon. Hazy golden pour with ok head. Light tangy finish, hop tang, but mostly clean. Not a ton of flavour but not bad. Tap at brewery.

The hops aren't bad in this - a bit piney, a bit fruity. There's decent bitterness. But the malts aren't great and something happened with the fermentation because I get that burnt plastic thing you never want to get.

On tap at KBC, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out piney hops, some dankness and crisp biscuity malt. Flavour is piney, with a decent oily hop character, some dankness, and crisp biscuity malt. Balanced and clean with good hop expression. Quite solid.
