This double IPA is a tribute to the historical leader of the style. The Brassneck people are very good people, and a modern IPA is something they do very well - so we decided we'd brew this together. Loaded up very, very heavily with Simcoe, Amarillo, Centennial, and Columbus - all vintage hops, straight classics. Big whoop!

Bright amber, small beige head. Nice fruity/malt nose. Medium bodied, citrus and bitter hops. Orangey notes. Needs more malt in back

Amber and bright. Not the most lively colour. Not much head. Medium bitterness, fairly chewy, light hop fruit, citrus. Woody and plenty of alcohol in the finish.

Poured from the tap. Clear orangey gold with small white head. Light caramel malt, citrus hops, feint pine hops. It’s no Pliny. Okay.

Amber colour, hazy. Some malt and orange aroma. Malt and caramel flavour, not sticky like an old school IPA, but also not modern; orangey hops, far from being bright. Mediocre.

473mL can, pours a clear golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is quite malty, with lots of bready caramel malt, oily resinous hops, traces of diacetyl. Flavour is much better, with resinous hops, dry bready malt, and a touch of pine. Too malty and not assertively hopped enough. Insulting to even suggest this is inspired by Pliny the Elder. It's fine but not a great WCIIPA.
