Modelo Noche Especial is a special imported Amber/Red Lager brewed to make holiday moments of togetherness, tradition and celebration even brighter. Inspired by Noche Buena, Mexico’s cherished Christmas Eve celebration, this Mexican beer is crafted for gathering with family and friends at any celebration this season. This full-flavored amber beer has a rich color and delivers a toasted caramel malt flavor balanced by subtle hops for a taste that’s both festive and refreshing.

Bottle to shaker. Pours a clear dark brown with a reddish hue, no head. Aroma is grainy with a hint of green apple. Taste is grainy with a nice caramel backbone and hints of green apple. Abrupt finish. Thin bodied with medium carbonation. Overall, not bad. On par with what I’d expect from Modelo. Drinkable but nothing I’d seek out specifically.

Cool little stubby gold foil capped bottle for 2$. Pour is dark brown and clear, similar to root beer. Nice head fades to thin scum. Quite nice mild malty dark beer nose. First taste is just friendly dark beer and nothing offensive. Good level of carbonation, I like that. If you look for it, a little bit of chocolate along with some tasty notes of old damp partially burned campfire wood. Comes across more like a dark lager than an amber, in looks, mannerism and taste. Very easy on the palate and quite civilized. Not many vienna attributes in this stuff. Could drink a few of these, you'd never know it was near 7%. Easy to like, reminds me a bit of modelo negra dark. Not a bad session experience. Right up there with Trader José Dark Premium Lager, Penguin City Speedy Penguino, Michelob Amberbock and Helicon Vienna.

Middle-of-the-road amber lager, notes of caramel and toasted bread and a touch of apple but subdued like any Modelo beer. Eh.

Dark copper with small tan head. Nutty caramel malt, and grass/fresh hay aroma. Mildly sweet nutty caramel malt and mildly bitter grass flavor. Okay body.

Dark brown pour. Sweet flavor of nut and fruit. Palate is nut. Heaviness and flavor reminds me of a Christmas ale. Great beer!

Treacle, pecan, prune nose, not strong. Garnet brown, thin head. Pecan, light plum skin. Light body, easy carbonation. Delicate but nice, impressive.

Six pack of bottles from Albertsons. Clear, dark amber, head settles down to a to a silky cream-colored cap. Sweet, malty aroma, brown sugar. Taste is sweet, very sweet, sugary, malty. Pretty fast finish.

12 ounce bottle. Copper, brown pour. Small creamy beige head. Sweet toasted malt aroma hints at caramel. Flavor is light, sweet and toasty. A hint of dark fruit and toasted walnuts. Medium bodied. Sticky mouthfeel. Easy drinking. A nice, approachable, holiday brew. Very reminiscent of the Noche Buena brewed by Cerveceria Cuauhtémoc that I used to drink back in the 80’s and 90’s.

Code on neck of bottle isn't clear.
Pours a clear deep amber with plenty of off white foam, retention and lacing very good.
Smell is bready, hoppy, some grain notes, light fruitiness.
The taste is big bread, grain, hints of nuttiness, semi sweet notes, bit of grass.
Medium bodied with medium carbonation, this is good but I probably won't buy it again.
