Gold-foiled 2018 355ml bottle 12.5% from Bottle Craft in San Diego at home in HK. Rich pitch black pour with minimal butterscotch head. Aroma is deep and dark - big woody, boozy, roasty, with some piney-earthy hops., leather, smoke? Something a tiny bit savory.. Needs to warm up a lot. Taste is huge toasted oak, dark dark chocolate bitterness, sharp, warm alcohol, some pine, leather, little bit of vanilla bourbon. Palate isn’t too slick, but heavy and a tiny bit chalky at the end, not bad though. Overall a little flat - sharpness of taste sort of overwhelms, and limited amount of bourbon mellow. Still very good.

Draught @ Great Divide Taproom, Denver, CO. Super smooth, roasty and hoppy with loads of bourbon, wood, oak, vanilla, coffee and chocolate. Really well balanced and tasty, hits all my sweet spots. Great one.

Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy very dark brown head that left good lacing. The aroma was whiskey, cookie dough and cocoa. The flavor was whiskey, coconut, cocoa, roasty malts, cookie dough and sharp floral hops. Very long finish with lingering cookie dough. Moderately full bodied. Excellent.

Cheers to KBL for sharing this bottle. Black and almost flat. Nose is vanilla, oak, coconut, chocolate. Whiskey is pretty strong, roastiness light, lots of vanilla and coconut. Silky smooth and soft. Nice.

Great divide BA Yeti 12.5% 12 oz bottle through a trade and shared with a friend. Served in a snifter. Deep inky black with a beige head and a tannic oaky whiskey aroma. Medium bodied and smooth with boozy sweet whiskey ba and sweet molasses thick classic yeti notes. Really good but for me the whiskey barrel was a bit too prominent, I prefer a sweeter rounder beer I guess but like the whole yeti series, this beer will not disappoint.

12 ounce bottle into signature tulip glass, bottled on 3/22/2017. Pours dense pitch black color with a 2 finger dense and rocky brown head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, whiskey, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, pepper, pine, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, whiskey barrels, and light-moderate earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, whiskey, coconut, toasted oak, and dark bread; with lighter notes of smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, molasses, licorice, raisin, prune, cherry, pepper, pine, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char and peppery/piney hop bitterness on the finish. Some bourbon/oak tannin spiciness. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, whiskey, coconut, toasted oak, dark bread, smoke, charcoal, leather, tobacco, molasses, dark fruit, pepper, pine, and roast/toast/oaky earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, whiskey barrels, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; with an awesome roast/char/hop bitter/sweet balance; with zero acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from hop/char bitterness and whiskey/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and fairly sticky/chalky/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Alcohol is extremely well hidden; a mildly increasing warmth of 12.5%, with zero barrel booziness lingering after the finish. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged Russian imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, whiskey barrels, and light-moderate earthy hop flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV; with the modestly hop/char bitter/drying finish. Perfect barrel integration, rich roasty/charred malts, and nice earthy hop presence even after the barrel aging. A highly enjoyable offering, and pristine style example.
