This unique version of our monstrous Yeti Imperial Stout is aged for at least twelve months in whiskey barrels. The spirited aging process produces a hugely complex but mellowed Yeti, with its signature roasted flavors, hints of vanilla and oak, and a whiskeyed finish.

Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Black with a lasting dark brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate, wood and notes of red wine - probably from the wood. Flavor is very sweet, very bitter and light acidic. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol and a small acidity. Oily and smooth. The acidity seems to come more from the barrel than from an infection. 220113

Bottle, 2011 vintage #1024. Black with small dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, oak, wood and liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, little acid, oak, wood, whiskey, medium sweet, wine and vinous.

Bottle # 1024. Nice creamy dark brown head with good duration. Color is black. Aroma and taste are wood, vanilla, roast malt, caramel, whisky, coffee, chocolate. wine and light acidity. Well done.

750mL bottle, pours a thick pitch black with a small brown head. Nose is full of roast, light whiskey barrels, a little chocolate, and light espresso. Flavour is extremely rich, full of roasted malt from the base beer, an absolutely perfect amount of whiskey barrel character, light wood, and very well-concealed alcohol. Thick palate, very viscous and so supremely well barrel aged, offering the perfect amount of whiskey character. Still not as awesome as the regular Yeti or the Oak Aged, but a fucking amazing impie stout nonetheless.

Bottle at Camp Beer. Pours a dark brown with small tan head that diminishes quickly. The aroma is booze chocolate roast. Thin mouthfeel with a sour roast and sour finish. Possible infection

750 ml bottle received in trade. Thank you rfraga7. Pours viscous pitch black with a frothy and creamy dark chocolate brown head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet and sour with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, lemon juice, mineral rich soil, caramel, resinous wood, boozy whiskey, dark grapes, alcohol, pine, bitter chocolate, lemon zest, acetic acid and hints of red wine vinegar. Taste is sweet, bitter and very sour with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, lemon juice, oily pine, resinous wood, bitter chocolate, whiskey, acetic acid, red wine vinegar, lemon zest, toffee, burnt cookies, mineral rich moist soil and caramel. Mouthfeel is smooth, oily tart, tiny mouth puckering and near full bodied. Finish is dry, tart and bitter with roasted malts, dark roast coffee, lemon juice, gastric acid, bitter chocolate, caramel, toffee, acetic acid and pine. Heavily infected... I didn’t expect this from an otherwise solid brewery.

2011 Vintage. Enjoyed at home at 60 Degrees F in a snifter.
A - Dark midnight black viscous color. The head appears slowly and fades very fast. Mocha coffee colored head.
S - Smells fantastic. Huge loads of vanilla and espresso beans with undertones of dark mocha chocolate.
T - Huge chocolate and vanilla bean taste. Lots of roasted malts notes and spicy chewy sweet licorice. The finish is coffee and charred oak akin to a cheap bourbon.
M - Thin mouthfeel, medium body and very little carbonation. Thin almost like scotch feels on the tongue.
O - This is pretty delicious. The surprising sweetness is out of nowhere and so is the thin mouthfeel. Lots of vanilla which is pleasant. Overall, falls short.

Bottle #901, vintage 2011, shared by badnewsbeers. Deep murky brown-black body, thick puffy brown head. Nose of whiskey and oak, bitter and charred with notes of cocoa. Leathery body with molasses, cocoa, oak and whiskey. Very good.
