This unique version of our monstrous Yeti Imperial Stout is aged for at least twelve months in whiskey barrels. The spirited aging process produces a hugely complex but mellowed Yeti, with its signature roasted flavors, hints of vanilla and oak, and a whiskeyed finish.

@markwise Birthday-palooza-a-go-go Gathering-thanks Blazer06-750 bottle-after it finished gushing, pours black with a too big tan head. Aroma is tart, roasty dark malt-ashy. Taste is sour/tart-dark fruit, wood, dark malt-ashy.

Pours black into a snifter. Mocha head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Oak, chocolate and rum-soaked pit fruit aromas. Dark rum soaked caramel upfront turning to oak and bourbon in the lasting, dusty finish.

From a 750ml bottle. Was completely unaware of this particular brew (thought it was just the Oak Aged Yeti, but was proven wrong quickly. Well, the flavor wasn’t all that different than that one, but it was pretty darn good, albeit a bit boozy (but like a good whiskey) for my tastes. Well it poured a near-pitch black color. Aroma has notes of coffee, vanilla. Flavor is boozy whiskey (as I mentioned before) with a bit of burnt, roasted notes.

Sample at the 4th Annual Coldest Day of the Year Stout Tasting on 01/21/2012: The beer pours a viscous black with a medium tan head that recedes steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Oaky aroma of bourbon, vanilla and dark malt. Rich body with a boozy quality and flavors of oak, vanilla, charred malt and dark chocolate. The finish is plums and bourbon. Good beer all around.

Bottle @ Exira Beer Summit II. Deep black appearance with a dark brown head. Strong whiskey, vanilla, oaky, roasty chocolate malty aroma. Very rich flavor. Big whiskey, oaky, chocolate malty, vanilla flav with some booze on the finish.

As Jeb said, "All Yeti should taste like this." I can’t agree, since I’ve yet to make it through all the various incarnations of Yeti out there, but I’m sure of one thing: Barrel-Aged tastes amazing. Starts dry and thick, but quickly grows and oily, sweet center that drips with whiskey and sunshine. The fade dries out again, bringing with it vanilla, licorice, and booze, making for near-perfect stout happiness.

bottle at the Tally tasting, pours thick black, tall dark tan head. Aroma is very sweet, maple syrup, vanilla, some sweet cocoa. Flavor is strong barrel, this beer is huge in bold flavors, chocolate, bourbon, wood, hot alcoholic finish.

Bottle at Maltzillas World Cup 2010 tasting. pours black with light brown head. Aromas of burnt malts, whisky, vanilla and oak. Roasted malt and whisky flavors with some vanilla, chocolate and wood with some heat from the alcohol. Full body with minimal carbonation. Very nice! Thanks Diego.

2008 Bottle #294/470 Thanks douglas88. Pours out very dark brow almost black topped with a small tan head. Aroma is of oak, cocoa, whiskey, heavy alcohol and a little vanilla. Taste is more of the oak, and hot whiskey burn, some bitter dark chocolate and ends with a little roast. I think this would have been even better in a couple years.
