This unique version of our monstrous Yeti Imperial Stout is aged for at least twelve months in whiskey barrels. The spirited aging process produces a hugely complex but mellowed Yeti, with its signature roasted flavors, hints of vanilla and oak, and a whiskeyed finish.

Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of woody notes with some vanilla and bourbon notes easily noticeable. Taste is also dominated by woody notes with some vanilla and bourbon with light warming alcohol. Black chocolates notes with subtle roasted malt are also discernable. Body is full with nice creamy texture with good carbonation and some warming alcohol notes are also perceptible. Truly a world-class beer that I wouldn’t mind having again.

Bottle during RBSG 2014 Grand Tasting at Schlafly Tap Room. Black with tan head. Aromas of whiskey, chocolate, roast. Tastes of whiskey, chocolate, slight dark fruit, a bit of vanilla and oak. Full body with a dry finish. Aged well for 3 years.

The appearance is a pitch black body with a two finger tan foamy head that when it dies leaves some nice clingy foamy lacing in rings.
The smell has some chocolate and coffee coming through in a woody sort of way. Light vanilla enters in as it warms up.
The taste is bittersweet through previously mentioned flavors.
On the palate, it sits about a medium to heavy and demonstrates that its not that sessionable. Carbonation is barely there leads to a nice smooth feel all around.
Overall, so though I got this in a trade, I feel like I had the cart before the horse since I didn’t have the original Yeti, no worries. Id still have this again and this is very good for its style as well and also am hoping Id be able to find original Yeti someday.

22 oz. bottle vintage 2008, bottle count 446/470. Got this in a trade with bu11zeye, thanks a lot!! I am drinking a collector’s item; I believe I will keep the bottle. Nose is incredibly smooth bourbon oak and vanilla followed by hints of chocolate and sugar. Flavor is really good considering how much age it has. Whiskey, vanilla oak, chocolate, and raisins. The carbonation is nearly flat but… it’s a 5 year old bottle, I can forgive that. In retrospect this should have been opened about 18 – 20 months ago but this drinks really, REALLY well. Top Notch, and bad ass.

Bottle - 2011 vintage: Deep brown pour with a thick brown head. Nose is rich; mostly vanilla and oak, a little bit of chocolate and espresso. Flavor profile is similar, but the barrel aging becomes more prevalent along with roast. Good, but loses a lot of the cocoa and espresso notes that I have come to crave from the Yeti. Phew, not one of the infected bottles that I’d been hearing about.

Bottle @ Johns. 2011 vintage, bottle 1024, courtesy of Adnielsen, thanks alot man!. Pours jet black with creamy dark brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, oak, some redwine / sour cherry like tartness, whisky. Flavor is roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, licorice, redwine, oak, whisky. Medium to full body, soft carbonation, hiddes alcohol very well. Very nice beer. 220113
