Das in herrlichem Orange schimmernde Schleppe No. 1, mit einem Alkoholgehalt von 5,3 % Vol. und 12,8° Stammwürze, präsentiert sich mit einem feinporig, dicht cremefarbenen Schaum. Der paradiesisch, exotische Duft erinnert an die reifen Früchte Maracuja und Rhabarber. Der Antrunk löst die durch den herrlichen Duft erzeugte Spannung nicht auf - er verstärkt sie noch. Frische, fein perlende Lebendigkeit tanzt mit cremiger Geschmeidigkeit über Zunge und Gaumen. Der Mundraum ist erfüllt von opulenter Fruchtigkeit. Ein Erlebnis mit ausgeprägtem Hopfenaroma in voller Breite: Trocken harzig und wieder fruchtig.

(Sample from a bottle at RBESG 2017 Grand Tasting, bought from Biertempel Linz) The beer poured deep amber and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, citricness and solvent. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, sweetness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A rather nice pale ale.

Die Schleppe-Brauerei hat ja eigentlich keinen besonders guten Ruf. Daher wundert es mich ein bisschen, dass sie eine Craftbier-Linie startet und nicht das bestehende Sortiment verbessert. Aber gut. Der große Wurf ist dieses Bier auch nicht, sich wenn es die Nr. 1 hat. Es ist in Ordnung, kommt aber langweilig brav daher. Für jemanden, der diesen Bierstil noch nicht kennt (ich vermute, in den tiefen Tälern Kärntens gibt es noch solche Leute) vielleicht interessant, aber nix für Bierkenner.
