(Keg at Maltainen Riekko, 20150220) The beer poured really dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had malts, caramel and coffee. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, burnt malts, grass, caramel and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. Nothing here resembled an IPA. This beer was more like a dunkel with added burnt malts and more hops.

Tap at Richtar Jakub. Dark brown color with thick beige head. Citrus hops, dark malt in taste. Dark malt, cotton candy, very light hoppy bitter finish. Enjoyable beer, although not Black IPA.

Tap at RJ. Aroma roasty, fruity. Seems unbalanced. The taste however is quite opposite. Very nicely balanced, dark roasted malt, caramel. Clear dark brown colour, stable head. Very good, easily drinkable.

Bottle @ olutexpo 14. Dark brown, thick off white head. Sweet, milky chocolate, mild roastedness. Flavor has ash, roastedness, hint of metal. Very hoppy, some grapefruit. Bitter finish. Metal ruins the show.

Bottle split at Mother Arch during my 40th Sheenans, big thanks to Fergus, not Fergus, for providing the perfect birthday rate, 11/10/14. Mahogany brown with a beige covering that dissipates. Nose is bitter roast, toffee, spice, earthy hops, minerals. Taste comprises earthy roast, cocoa rub, light pine, toffee. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Ok CDA if a little basic.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Fergus. Pours clear brown with a frothy tan head. The nose has toasted bread, some fruits, wet earth. Medium sweet flavor with burnt wood, berry skins, earth, faint cocoa. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with mellow smoke, cocoa, bitter roasted grains, some coffee and old, dried fruits. Not bad.
