0,33 l bottle from E-Center Walsrode. Cloudy golden in the glass, one finger white head. A lot of sediments are floating around. Grainy straw and bitter hop on the nose. Taste starts with bitterhop, caramel and malt in the second row, orange fruity elements in the background. Little bit alcoholic. A balanced one.

Surprisingly good. Usually their Bocks suck.

Einbecker Hanse-Bock, naturtrüb; Fläschchen von Ratio, Baunatal. - Orangebraun, trüb; unschöne Hefebrocken im Glas. - In der Nase kernige exotisch-zitrusfruchtige Hopfenherbe, trotz guter Hopfenaromen noch ein klein wenig ruppig, Einbeck-typisch eben, und honigartige Süße von dichtem hellen Malz. - Antrunk sehr satt, rund und weich karamelmalzig mit beträchtlicher Süße, Honig. Sehr aromatische aber runde, leicht exotisch zitrusfruchtige und herbale Hopfenherbe, Mandarine, Mango, Grapefruit. Mild rezent, vollmundig, gut kaschierter Alkohol. Im Abgang kernige Hopfenbittere mit einem Rest norddeutscher Derbheit. - Hier haben wir es mit dem Versuch zu tun, den traditionell sehr hopfenbitteren aber norddeutsch-schlichten Einbecker Böcken eine neumodische Aromahopfung mit süßer tropischer Frucht und Mandarine zu verpassen, die keinem wehtut. Das ist auf fast plakative Weise auch gelungen, dennoch bleibt ein Rest von Schwefel. Der Einbecker 1378 hat mir besser geschmeckt. (1.11.2022.)

330ml bottle. Cloudy, orange golden colour with average, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grassy and minimally floral-herbal, hoppy aroma, widely disguised, minimally bready, malty background, hints of fresh hay, a touch of silage, nettle, thistle. Taste is grassy and slightly floral, moderately bitter hoppy, hints of fresh hay, light herbal interludes, rather neutral, malty basis very subtle, residual sweetness. Slightly oily, watery texture, basically smooth and soft, partially dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation. Quite hoppy, rather earthy and rustic overall, no really flattering flavours, fortunately no annoying (typically Heller Bock) starchy aspects; imaginable as minimally awkward, mediaeval, savoury Gesöff (swill) - worth a trial.
