Bottle from Brewcraft at home on day 2 of CNY 2019. Had from the bottle last week and really enjoyed, now trying at home in proper glass etc. Dark dark dark brown pour, opaque with some beige sediment, dense fizzy fine beige head - looks great, sediment aside. Aroma is big nutty dark chocolate with some chili, leather, and wood. Like amped up Hak Mo Sheung sort of. Taste is delicious - sweet, spicy, toasty, leathery - somehow all comes together. Coffee feels brighter, perhaps due to balance with chili and spice. Each flavor distinct but balanced, and overall feels like a spikjer relative of the HMS ancho chili version. Excellent. Had again alongside the HMS ancho chili one. This is still delicious but the aging of the HMS improves things without subtracting any intensity of spice.
