33 cl bottle. Best before April '23, so this is an older bottle. Clear, dark amber colour with a thin off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, toasted notes, liquorice, and red berries. Subtle Christmas spices - coriander and star aniseed. Not too hot on the spices. The taste is sweet. Medium body. Drying fruity spiced finish. A nice effort to make a Christmas beer.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, nutty brown with a dissipating beige head. Nose is somewhat rustic, yeasty, caramel and some slight phenols. Rich, sweet and malty body. Again caramel, but also licorice and dark, dried fruits. Luckily the spices aren't overpowering, so it comes out as a pretty decent stab at a Christmas beer. 050122

bottle from Natholdets Julekalender #22 clear light brown, light brown head. aroma of caramel, nuts and dark dried fruits like figs, dates, plums etc. pretty nice flavor, quite sweet but also balanced by a aromatic bitterness that ends almost smoked malty. The bitterness almost goes burnt plastic but it could also be grapefruit peel. Or perhaps spices. In fact some of the dried fruity sweetness could be partly from well selected spices.
