Blend of port and brandy barrels. Notes of red fruit and dark chocolate. A complex blend of three different base beers, one of them was fermented with a Belgian yeast, supporting the fruitiness from the port and brandy barrels. Tannins from those barrels help with further complexity of the blend. To bring out the soft fruity notes we put this barrel aged stout with Nitrogen instead of CO2, introducing a new deluxe mouthfeel to our already super thick barrel aged stout.

Tasting at CBJ, thanks to Colin. Opaque dark brown beer, small and short lived tan head. Smooth palate, very mild carbonation. Smooth and slightly viscous dark malts, decent smooth chocolate, milk chocolate. Mild whiskey soaked fruits. Light finish. Flavoursome but the body leaves much to be desired.

poured very dark nearly black with no head whatsoever.
not that powerful aroma of roasted malts coffee and chocolate. the aroma does not hint 14% at all, but then it does hint full bodied not at all watery. so theres that. also no distinct wood or booze, it's more a mellow well blended aroma. pretty good at that. although i could use a bit more in-your-face power, the aroma is really really good.
palata is crazy oily, about the same as drinking-yoghurt, flavor is like thick chocolate milk with a bit of a roasted malty note and some great coffe thrown in. extreme amounts of what seems to be chocolate in the flavor. the sweetness is moderate and works well with the chocolate, giving it a melted dark 70% chocolate kind of expression.
alcohol is totally stealthy - you would never guess. the full bodiness and intensity usually following high alc beers are here, but the boozy flavor is not at all there. really well done for a 14% imp. stout. you could almost get away selling this as cold dark chocolate with no alc.
