Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm. Cloudy amber, small head. Grapefruity nose with salmiak underneath. Sweet, full bodied with clean rounded mouthfeel. Salmiak strangely comes to dominate grapefruit. Hugely bitter finish. An obnoxious American style IPA.

Cask at Euston Tap. Lightly cloudy, amber-gold with a thick, white head. Very, very piney aroma with some grapefruit. Flavor has some worty, caramel sweetness and tons of resinous, mildly fruity bitters. Medium to full in body with average or fine carbonation and an oily, sticky mouthfeel. Finishes sweet with honey and caramel, and extremely sticky, piney, lightly floral hops. I love it.

330ml bottle, 1st edition. Pours dark amber with a large frothy white head. Aroma is hops, pine and resin, really strong on the nose. Some caramel first on the tongue then it’s straight into the hops. Piney finish, not as strong as I remember, the hops have mellowed a bit with age. It’s been a while since the first edition was brewed. Still really nice. Should have the second edition next week, see how it compares.

Pours ruby/amber with a creamy head quickly fading to a thin layer.Nose shows lots of resinous pine, pineapple and grass. Underneath is some subtle, clean crystal malt and cookie-dough characters. Later on spicy and floral hops are more noticeable, pilsner style.Very bold flavours: first up is a healthy dose of caramel malt before fruity hops enter, followed by an aggressive bitterness that is partially restrained by the lashings of sweet malt.Velvety body and great creamy carbonation.

bottle, can’t remember where it’s from, just seems to have appeared in my cellar. Hazy golden colour, intensive and promosing nose of citrus hops. Full-bodied, solid malty base with lots and lots of citrus hops. A delicious, an extremely delicious beer.

Medium white head. Amber body with light carbonation. Resiny strawy caramelly malty aroma with bready notes. Dry-sweet malty floral resiny syrupy taste with strawy earthy notes. Sharpish mouthfeel. Fullish body. Dry alcoholic strawy resiny floral aftertaste with nutty notes. Nice, and less hoppy than expected. (0.66l bottle, Cornelius, Edinburgh.)

Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, big lacy off-white head; solid piney hoppy nose, balanced by sweet caramel in the background; solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; lingering aromatic-piney hoppy finish with illusions of liquirice, balanced by sweet caramel; hops -again - in the aftertaste, sticking to the palate. Great, great stuff.....

Cask version at Winking Lizard’s 2nd Annual Real Ale Fest (03/27/10): Pours a murky golden color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Citrus and caramel malt in the nose. Medium, smooth body with flavors of sweet malt, caramel and citrusy hops. The finish is hoppy with a sweet malt aftertaste. Slightly above average IIPA overall.

Bottle at Voldby Brewdog tasting. Creamy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and heavy hoppy aroma. Light swet and heavy bitter flavor. Long great finish. Creamy palate. Excellent well-balanced IPA.
