Tap at source. Big & black. Some clove in the nose. Roasty taste up front with some of that typical buckeye lake yeast astringent -ness in the middle? Controlled, to an extent. Not bad as the session continues. OK. Not bad. An average domestic oatmeal stout.Decent co2 to the end.

Half pint draft at the brewery tasting room in Buckeye Lake, Ohio. The pour is blackish brown with not much of a head. The aroma is a nice char roast, along with some malt brown sugar sweetness. The taste is the char, coffee with cream, mineral, and a touch of honey vanilla sweet. The palate is medium bodied, low carbonation level is pretty close to still. Nice roast character.

Sample at the taproom. The beer is a dark brownish-black color with a thin dense tan head that recedes slowly. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma with notes of malt and coffee. Light body with a toasted malt character and notes of milk chocolate and mild hops. The finish is malty with a mild coffee aftertaste. Decent overall.
